For those of you who have not caught up with the rest of the fashion world, it has become vogue to wear lingerie as outerwear.  Such items as laced corsets are actually on the list as must haves for the chic dresser.  Laced corsets are hot for clubbing or for those exclusive dinner parties.

The modern day laced corset is not technically a corset in the traditional sense.  While modern laced corsets often feature boning and generally mimic a historical style of corsets, they have very little effect on the shape of the wearer’s body.

In recent years the term “corset” or “laced corset” has also been borrowed by the fashion industry to refer to tops which mimic the look of traditional corsets without actually acting as one.  These tops are many times found in stores that cater to the gothic fashion crowd.
